Quality Management System

ISO9001:2000

LIS works under the umbrella of ISO9001:2000 Quality Management System and have in the past incorporated other quality standards on a contract basis eg. NQA1 and IEC61508.
ISO9001:2000 is an internationally recognised certification standard for both quality management and quality assurance that has been adopted by governments in approximately 150 countries.

UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) is recognised by the UK government, and operates in strict accordance with agreed international standards. Most importantly, organisations that are audited and become certified by a UKAS accredited certification body may display the prestigious “Tick & Crown” which provides visual assurance that LIS have met the requirements of international certification standards for Quality Management Systems (QMS).

Scope of Certification

LIS scope of certification covers :- ‘The project management, application engineering, design including software and hardware, procurement, system assembly, testing, supply, commissioning and servicing of specialised environmental and radiation measurement and laboratory equipment’. The Quality Management System

‘Quality Management’ is defined by ISO as: “what an organisation does to ensure that its products and services satisfy the customer’s quality requirements and comply with any regulations applicable to those products or services”. To this end, LIS operates a fully-documented Quality Management System designed to ensure that specified contract requirements are met. The effectiveness is monitored through regular internal auditing, customer, personnel and manager feedback, management reviews and external auditing. Areas on non-compliance are addressed by corrective action.
